Breathwork

What is it?

Breathwork is the practice of using intentional, controlled breathing exercises to positively affect your physical, mental, and emotional state. As a mindfulness tool, practicing breathwork can be a wonderful aid in re-centering in the present moment. There are many types of breathwork which serve different purposes and offer unique physical and mental health benefits. (from Breathwork: What it Is & How it Works | Mindfulness.com )

Breathing is something we do every day, often without even thinking twice about it. Even in times of stress, our breath automatically responds by shortening and speeding up.

But with practice, breath can also be controlled—allowing us to utilize it as a calming tool during times of stress. (from Breathwork: What Is It And How Does It Work? – Forbes Health )

The linguistic connection between Spirit and Breath Prayer is unambiguous in the Bible; both the Hebrew ruach and Greek pneuma mean breath, wind, and/or spirit. The simplicity of breathing can relieve us from complicating our prayer. (from Breath Prayer: An Ancient Spiritual Practice Connected with Science - BioLogos)
